He then married Ivery May Dulworth in 1922. They had two daughters. William Francisco Mathews was born 1 July 1874 Dawsonville, Dawson, Georgia to William Monroe Mathews and Margaret Matilda Cross. He died 25 October 1943 in Ardmore, Carter, Oklahoma and is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Ardmore, Carter, Oklahoma FAG Memorial # 21566810.
