Born in Exeter, Mo, the son of Vance & Edith (McClure) Owings. On Aug. 12, 1944, in Satanta, KS., he was united in marriage to Juanita Young. She survives. Survivors include: two sons, Charles and Dwayne Owings; two daughters, Deloris Hockett and Kayra Owings; two brothers, John and George Owings; three sisters, Emella Roller, Annabelle McDaniel and Clarabelle Elliott; 8 grandchildren; and 10 g-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Claude Curtis Owings.
