By April 22 they had moved to a house they owned at 1011 North 29th Street in Billings, MT. Their home was valued at $6500. Her father worked as the proprietor of a retail drug store.

In 1950 she was a lodger in the ground floor apartment of 73-year-old widow Mary O Young at 514 North Tracy Avenue in Bozeman, MT. Mary worked in the linen room at the hospital and Emilie as a grade school teacher.
