Mary Frances (Beard) Parrott, was born August 26, 1903, in Columbus, Ohio to Frank Andrew and Zula Emma (Cummins) Beard. She passed away on Saturday, July 16, 1988, at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, at 84 years old.

Mary was a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Art and Master of Art degree in Education. She taught biology in several cities.

She retired in 1971 from Linden McKinley High School where she received a Valley Forge Teacher's Medal in 1967 for her promotion of American ideas and traditions. Mary also taught Honal Rapid Reading for ten years at Franklin University Night School.

Mary was a member of Overbrook Presbyterian Church, Hetuck Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Pi Lamda Theta Sorority, and the Clintonville Women's Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Harlan Parrett; parents, Frank and Zula Beard; stepmother, Elizabeth Beard; and brother, John Beard.

Mary is survived by son and daughter-in-law, James B. and Judy Parrett of Indiana; chosen daughter and son-in-law, Mary S, and Dr. Leo McCabe of New Jersey; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Glennetta B. Schott of Florida, Ruth M. Beard of Columbus; and sister-in-law, Rev. Evelyn Beard of Thornville, Ohio.
