FAIRBURY - Clara A. Maurer, 97, of Fairbury died at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 24, 1999) at Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury.
Her funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury, with ministers of the church officiating. Burial will be in North Apostolic Christian Cemetery, rural Forrest. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury, and 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Memorials may be made to Fairview Haven Nursing Home.
Mrs. Maurer was born Feb. 15, 1902, in Cissna Park, a daughter of John and Anna Wustholz Heinold. She married Alphia Maurer on Aug. 20, 1921, in Peoria. He died on Oct. 10, 1982.
Survivors include three sons, Ray L. Maurer, Forrest; Howard L. Maurer, Scottsdale, Ariz.; and Larry W. Maurer, Glendale, Ariz.; five daughters, Gladys L. Koehl, Dorothy L. Hoffman and Helen M. Zimmerman, all of Fairbury; DeLoris J. Thomas, Arlington Heights; and Wilma L. Honegger, Germantown Hills; two sisters, Martha Blessman, Tucson, Ariz.; and Leah Maurer, Fairbury; 37 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Donald D. Maurer; two brothers; one sister; and three grandchildren.
Mrs. Maurer lived her married life in the Forrest-Fairbury area. She was a member of Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury. She was a wonderful Christian example to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
