The Patriot of Sept. 26th has the following: “Dr. J. Bion Scott, aged 48 years, of Gettysburg, Pa., committed suicide by hanging in the Friends Asylum, Philadelphia, where he had been a patient for two months. He was suffering from Melancholia.”
Dr. Scott practiced medicine here, about 1881 and 2.
