Maxine Leona Maynard passed from this life and entered into Heaven on April 20, 2012 surrounded by her loving family in Catoosa, OK at the age of 90 years, 6 months and 24 days.

She was born on September 27, 1921 in Harrison, AR to Bill and Alta (Hayes) Lewis.

Maxine was a homemaker and devoted her life to God, her husband and family. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Catoosa and always supported their various Mission projects. Maxine loved to make quilts and work in her flowerbeds. She enjoyed bird watching, especially cardinals, which were her favorite bird. She always kept her bird feeders full and her bird baths full of fresh water. In fact, even if there was snow on the ground, Maxine would put on her boots and trudge through the snow three times daily to make sure her beloved birds had food and fresh water. She was loved and will be missed.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Sherman Maynard (1975); 1 brother; and 5 sisters.

She is survived by her children, Brenda Joy Maynard of Catoosa, Linda Kay Franklin and husband Mike of Pawhuska and Mary Jo Maynard of Catoosa; grandchildren, Joel Franklin of Catoosa, Joshua Franklin and wife Hannah of Minneapolis, MN and Rachel Lewis and husband Cody of Ft. Riley, KS; great grandchildren, Josiah Franklin, Timothy Franklin and twins on the way; sister, Freda Moore of Harrison, AR; brother, Larry Lewis of Boise, ID; and numerous other family members and friends.
