DIED
FLETCHER - On Sunday, July 26, 1885, of consumption, Hattie, wife of E. C. Fletcher, in the 28th year of her age.
Mrs. Fletcher was married on the 19th of June, 1884, to Mr. E. C. Fletcher. On the 4th of July, the same year, she caught a severe cold, from which she never recovered. She moved to David City, from near Plattsmouth, last February, with her husband, and has lived here since. She was a great sufferer for over a year, but died triumphing in the comforts of religion and declaring her readiness to depart. A few minutes before she died she selected the hymn, He Leadeth Me, and requested that it be sung. While yet the strains of the song lingered in the air her spirit departed borne on the wings of song to her eternal reward. On Monday her body was taken by her sorrowing husband to Eight Mile Grove, near Plattsmouth, her former home.
The friends of the deceased desire to return in this public manner their heartfelt thanks to the people of David City, for their kindness and thoughtful care during this trying ordeal, and pray that the Lord may fittingly reward them.
