I have recently discovered, regarding William Joseph Herbig (Memorial #88866527)) that on his World War I and World War II Draft Registration cards, he filled out his name as Joseph William Herbig, NOT WILLIAM JOSEPH HERBIG and he also signed his name as such. However, on his tombstone his name is INCORRECTLY listed as William J Herbig, instead of Joseph W Herbig. Evidently, whoever provided the information for his tombstone did NOT know that he was named after his father, Joseph William Herbig (See Memorial site #65799350). Therefore, his father would have been Joseph William Herbig Sr. and his son would have been Joseph William Herbig Jr. Please make this correction on Memorial site #88866527 and mention the fact that the tombstone name is in error. Hopefully, that will help clear this confusion for other researchers in the future. This is something I have been working on for over a year, and I just recently noticed the signatures on his Draft Registration Cards. Thank you for your patience and understanding regarding this matter.

He and Rose Dell Goodman Herbig also had a son who is now deceased named James Wilbur Herbig (B. 17 December 1914, Pekin, Tazewell, Illinois - D. 05 February 1986, Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne, Pennsylvania. He served in the U.S. Navy veteran and served during World War II as a 3rd Class Gunner-Mate from 08 January 1942 - 03 June 1944, according to Book #2, Page #6 of the Snyder County, Pennsylvania Commonwealth, Veterans Burial Records. James Wilbur Herbig was my deceased ex-husband's maternal uncle who was James' sister, Helen Elendor Herbig Neikirk.

Incidentally, the child in the picture of William Joseph Herbig is his eldest daughter, Irene Verlin Herbig.
