Vesta Lena Darnell, 86, of Piney Grove Road, passed away Wednesday at her home.

Mrs. Darnell retired from Magnavox and farming.

She loved her flowers and gardening.

Mrs. Darnell was a member of Burnett's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, attending as long as her health permitted.

Survivors include her children and their spouses: Edward Darnell, Melvin and Jean Darnell, Elizabeth and Johnny Reaves, Karen Darnell, Dearl and Pearl Darnell, Floyd and Jan Darnell, Wayne Darnell, Charlotte and Donnie Livingston, and Jannie and Lynn Massey; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law: Maynard and Dorothy Mysinger; a sister: Geneva Crum; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Guy and Faye Darnell, Carrie and Walter Kelley, Geraldine Darnell, Oscar Parkins, and Don Shipley; and several special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Vance Darnell; a son: Rex Darnell; her father and mother: Bruce and Cordelia Mysinger; and a sister: Lucille Cutshall.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at noon Saturday in the funeral home chapel with interment in River Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Buster Shelton, the Rev. Jeremy Roberts and the Rev. Tommy Melton will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Junior Darnell, Tim Darnell, John Darnell, Steve Darnell, Mark Darnell, Keith Reaves, Donnie Lee Livingston, Frankie Darnell, and Jerry Darnell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Thomas Beckner and his nurse, Allison.
