Funeral services for Roy Lee Baker, 55, of Louisiana will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday (today) at Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. The Rev. Ron Kunzweiler will officiate. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery near Louisiana.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Baker died Saturday, April 14, 2012 at his home near Louisiana.
He was born Oct. 9, 1956 in Louisiana to John H. and Stella L. Hickson Baker. He married Debra Barnes on March 25, 1978 at Pike Station, Ill. She survives.
He is also survived by a daughter, Jennifer House and husband, Jason of Louisiana; a son, Jeremy Baker of Louisiana; his mother, Stella Baker of Vandalia; an adopted daughter, Laura Snyder and husband, George of Barry, Ill.; grandchildren, Hunter and Payton House and Jessica and Rodney Snyder, a brother, Wayne Baker and wife, Rita of Louisiana; a sister, Catherine Porter and husband John of Vandalia, Missouri, a sister in-law, Karen Baker of New Haven, Conn.; best friend, Eddy Love and wife, Vickie and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Henry Baker, Sr. in 2001, and a brother, John Henry Baker, Jr. in 1975.
He had lived most of his life in Louisiana. Roy graduated from Louisiana High School in 1975. He had worked at Hubble Louisiana Plant for 28 years. He later worked with Charles Chapuis Farms for five years and at MASH in Louisiana for four years.
Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved to spend time with his family and especially spoiling his grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Roberts, Clark Roberts, Brandon Brown, Ron White, Randy Lippincott, Buddy Sapp and Brad Stoops.
