Christopher Brandon Wasser died on April 8, 2004. He moved from Overland Park, Kansas to Ottawa, Kansas in 1989, where he graduated from Ottawa High School in 2001. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Cub Scout Troop 3079 and Boy Scout Troop 77, all of Ottawa. He was also a member of Ottawa High School marching, concert and jazz bands. A United States Marine, he was stationed at Twentynine Palms, California, and deployed to Kuwait in January 2003. He was one of the first waves of troops to enter Iraq in March. He was an infantryman in Kabala with the Third Battalion Regimental Combat Team 7. He was stationed in the U.S. in September 2003 and returned to Iraq in February 2004. He died in Husaybah, Al-Anbar, Iraq at the age of 21.He was survived by his parents, brother, two sisters, maternal grandparents, and his girlfriend. Memorial service: 10:00 a.m. April 17, 2004 at Ottawa University Chapel.
