Religious Leader. A native of McLeod, Alberta, he served as an Assistant Curate to the Christ Church Cathedral in Ottawa, Ontario, in 1932, Rector from 1939 to 1953, Dean of Ottawa, Ontario, from 1945 to 1953, Bishop of Edmonton, Alberta, from 1953 to 1959, and Archbishop and Metropolitan of Rupert's Land from 1961 to 1969. He attended Trinity University College in Toronto, and was awarded his degree of Doctor Divinity in 1945, and several other degrees between 1965 and 1966. He was made a Companion of the Order of Canada in 1970. He passed away in January 1983 at the age of 79.
