Mitzi was a Terrier/Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix and the one and only puppy of Dixie a dog owned by Bob Young of Spokane, WA. She was born in 1969 and was given as a gift by Bob to his mother Clara in Indianapolis. As a small puppy, Mitzi made the long journey from the west coast to the Midwest by air. When she arrived in Indianapolis, the Young's received a phone call from the airport to tell them that they were holding a big, ferocious animal for them. At the time, she probably weighed all of 3 lbs. During her long life, Mitzi accompanied the Youngs on their many travels around the country. She was a very bright, sweet, fiercely loyal little dog who, regardless of her diminutive size, did not hesitate to protect her people. She departed to meet Clara at the rainbow bridge in 1983.
