He had been honorably discharged from the U.S, Army, He was a Sergeant at Fort Knots training center in Kentucky. He was an expert with a rifle. He also received other metals of honor. He worked for Lockheed the California Company in Burbank California, from April 1949 until May 1955. He was a Structural Assembler, And a Leadman. Lockheed rehired him in April 1957 and he only stayed working there for 2 months until May 28-1957. He was married four times and had 8 children, and 1 step-daughter.
He is buried at LAKEWOOD MEMORIAL PARK in Hughson,CA.South Hyland garden, section 24s/11w site B2 E1/2.He was married four times. .His first wife was Thelma Colwell,she was the mother of four of his children.John,Jacqueline,Sharron,Janis. His second wife Marilynn Acton,was also the mother of four of his children.Buck,Brad,Bart,and Marsha.And he also had a step-daughter Gina. Shelby was also married to Dorothy Lee Demmings, and Dollie leona Jordan. Those preceding him in death were his parents Andrew Christie, and Florence Childers-Christie, Two of his wives Dorothy Lee Demmings, and Thelma Cowell, along with five of his children.. His baby daughter Janis Christie,And all four of his sons John Wayne Christie,Buck Alan Christie,Brad Elliot Christie,And Bart Wayne Christie. Two daughters followed him in death, Sharron Christie Lawless and Jacqueline Christie Diaz. With only 1 surviving daughter Marsha Christie.
