Eunice Wilt Ryder, 94, of Chester, Virginia, formerly of Orange, died on Friday, April 13, 2012, at her residence. She was born on February 12, 1918, in Landisburg, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Dennis Ray Wilt and Ocie Virginia Smith Wilt. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Everett "Dick" Ryder. Mrs. Ryder was retired from the American Silk Mill in Orange and a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Unionville. Mrs. Ryder is survived by a daughter, Priscilla Ryder Beck and husband, James, of Chester; a son, Richard "Buddy" Ryder and wife, Margie, of Stanardsville; a brother, Freddie Wilt of Mechanicsville; sisters, Leora Bailey and Ritta Browning, both of Orange; seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services were held 12 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2012, at the Preddy Funeral Home, 250 West Main Street, Orange, with interment following at Graham Cemetery.

The family received friends from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home and from 11:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. there was private family time prior to the service.
