Mr. McDade attended Statesville High School and Mitchell Community College and was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. He honorably served his country in the Korean War, was an award winning artist, and an avid golfer. Jim was a true southern gentleman, faithful husband, loyal friend, and beloved father. He retired from Southern Screw Company.
In addition to his parents, Mr. McDade is also preceded in death by his wife Brenda West McDade and two sisters Virginia McDade Wright and Sarah Wilda McDade.
He is survived by a sister Elizabeth McDade Rankin of Statesville, one brother William Robert McDade (Ann) of Charlotte, two sons James Douglas McDade (Susan) of Charlotte, Jeffrey Howard McDade of Statesville, one daughter, Dawn McDade Weese (Greg) of Hickory, three grandsons William Douglas McDade, James Andrew McDade and Jeffrey Michael McDade and one granddaughter Molly Taylor McDade. He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service was held in Oakwood Cemetery.
