Son of Irwin Cheney Clark (1895-1958) & Esther Mabel Lofton Clark (1901-1971). Born on his parents homestead on Beaver Creek, Suplee, Crook County, Oregon. Married Thelma Mae Birdsong, dau of Eddie Clifford Birdsong (1900-1939) & Lena Christina Reif (1903-1982) on 18 Jan 1945 at his parents home in Suplee by Rev Ted Goodwin of Prineville, Oregon. Thelma was 5 days past her 15th birthday.

Ashes spread on the parents original homestead on Beaver Creek, Suplee, Crook County, Oregon and the location is marked by a wooden cross attached to a juniper tree in the vicinity of the old homestead house where he was born. Cross built and placed by Claude's brother Homer.
