Ross L. Conner, 87, of Markle, passed away Monday morning April 16, 2012 at the Country(sic: s/b Coventry) Meadows in Fort Wayne where had resided that last several months. Mr. Conner had worked for the S&L Gravel Co. in Markle for several years. He than worked for Brudi Stone & Gravel for several years retiring in 1996. He later worked for Old Prairie Products in Fort Wayne for 5 years. He was a member of the Markle United Methodist Church and former Board member of the Markle Fish & Game Club Park. He served as a Scout Leader for several years for the Markle Troop 128.
Mr. Conner was born on March 17, 1925 in Chili, IN, a son of Ira O. and Vernice F. (Krisher) Conner. He was united in marriage to Mary Ruth Love on October 18, 1947 in Chili. She preceded him in death on August 7, 2011.
Survivors include 2 sons: Dennis (Linda) Conner of Huntington and Larry (Connie) Conner of Fort Wayne; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, a brother and a sister.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St. Markle, IN.
Funeral Services will take place on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Steven McPeek officiating.
Interment will take place in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Mexico, IN.
