His military decorations included but were not limited to: 3 Silver Stars for Valor, Legion of Merit, 3 Bronze Stars for Valor, 2 Purple Hearts, 3 Meritorious Service, Good Conduct Medal, and Combat Infantryman Badge. He was an Ordained Deacon at Tuloso-Midway Baptist Church, Corpus Christi, Texas before moving to Houston and joining Christchurch Baptist Fellowship in North Houston, Texas.
A simple man, he would find happiness driving his truck down a back country road with George Strait on the radio and a cold Dr. Pepper beside him. His philosophy in life was simple, treat everyone like they deserved to be treated and always be ready with a smile, firm handshake, and a gentle hug. His last words to family members and many friends in any conversation would be I love you. He tried to live a good Christian life, dearly loved his family and cherished his friends.
Funeral Service to be held Thursday at Christchurch Baptist Fellowship, 12501 Champion Forest Drive, Houston at 6:30 pm with a viewing beginning at 5:00pm. A Military graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 21st, in Corpus Christi at Memory Gardens, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, starting at 2 pm.
