Carl McGinnis, 75, died April 14 at 11 a.m. in an Independence, Mo. hospital, He was a native of the Selmore community and moved to the Independence area in 1925. He was a retired employee of the Staley Milling CO. Mr. McGinnis was a member of the Mt. Washington Baptist Church in Independence. Surviving are his wife, Alice E. of the home; one son, Richard McGinnis of New Orleans, La.; four daughters, Mrs. Thelma Rainey, Ontario, Calif., Mrs. Irene Smith of Independence, Mrs. Helen Smith of San Diego, Calif. and Mrs. Virginia Cooper, Metarie, La.; 20 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; two brothers, May McGinnis of Springfield (SIC) and Alfred McGinnis of Crawford, Neb.; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Baird of Springfield and Mrs. Mable Mills of Louisville, Ky. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Harris Chapel here, with the Rev. Michael McGinnis officiating. Burial will be in Selmore Cemetery.
