Dorothy McNett, 89, widow of Kenneth McNett, of Williamsport, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, from the Valley View Nursing Center.

Dorothy Mae, "Dot" to family and friends, was born in Ogdensburg, Pa., on April 26, 1922. Dot was one of eight children in the family of the late Tracy and Viola (Gruver) Jackson. She grew up on the family farm in Ogdensburg and graduated from Canton High School. Dot and her husband Ken were blessed with many happy and devoted years caring for one another. They enjoyed trips to visit with family. Dot was an active member of Williamsport's St. John's United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her two children, Paulette (McNett) Alexander of Duncannon and Ron (Pearl "Sue") McNett of Roaring Branch; five grandchildren, Dorothy, Michelle, Shaw, Tracey and Cassandra; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; three siblings, Hazel (Maynard) Schmenko of Elmira, Galen (Gladys) Jackson and Norman (Jean) Jackson, all of Ogdensburg; a daughter-in-law, Beverly McNett of Williamsport; special brother-in-law, Sam Cole of Warrensville; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth; a son, Larry McNett; and four siblings, Marjorie Gardener, Clara Cole, Gladys Doan and George Jackson.

Calling hours are noon to 1 p.m. Friday, April 20, at Pepper Funeral Home, 578 Springbrook Drive, in Canton.

Her funeral service will follow with Rev. Duane Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Ogdensburg Cemetery. Memorials in Mrs. McNett's name may be made to Valley View Nursing Center's Recreation Dept., 2140 Warrensville Road, Montoursville, PA 17754.
