George Davis Conn, 69, of Malvern, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Paoli Hospital, surrounded by loving family.

He was born on Aug. 23, 1942,in West Chester to the late George D. Conn Sr., and Mary Treseder Conn.

George is survived by his loving wife Tina; children, Christine Singley (Eric), Scott Hoffman, Mark Hoffman (Campbell) and Richard Hoffman; six grandchildren, Brianna, Elizabeth, Grant, Gabriella, Renee and Griffin; sisters, Barbara Coover and Gertude Lacy (Milt); and nieces and nephews.

He graduated from Conestoga High School in 1961. He received a bachelor's degree from West Chester University in history ('65) and two master's degrees in elementary and secondary education ('67 and '71).
He was a beloved teacher for the Great Valley School District for 33 years.
He loved covered bridges and photographed more than 700. He belonged to eight covered bridge societies including Theodore Burr Covered Bridge Society of Pennsylvania, and he was a member of the Bartram Bridge Joint Preservation Board.
He was an avid Phillies fan and a board member and coach with the Chester Valley Little League.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in George's name to the Theodore Burr Covered Bridge Society of Pennsylvania Preservation Fund, c/o Robert Kuether, 1080 Fifth Ave., Steelton, PA 17113; or The Foundation of Great Valley, P.O. Box 74, Malvern, PA 19355.
Please join the family for a memorial service at The Church of the Good Samaritan in Paoli at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 21.
