Agnes M. Adcock, Galesburg Chapel 90, of Galesburg, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 in Heartland Health Care Center.
She was born October 12, 1921 in Odin, Ill. the daughter of William and Edna Brown Rippy. She married Gerald Shafer in 1941 in Lanark, Ill. He preceded her in death in 1967. She married James Adcock in 1969 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death 1989.
She is survived by a son, Jerry (and Sharon) Shafer of Galesburg; and a daughter, Vicki (and Richard) Glisan of Galesburg. She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Agnes was a laborer at the former Admiral Corporation for 22 years, retiring in 1977. She graduated from Milledgeville High School in Lanark, Ill. in 1939. She moved to Galesburg in 1954. She was an active member of First Church of the Nazarene and was involved with numerous activities there. She was a collector of bears.
Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
