Andy S. Teeters, 74, of Morris Twp, Alexandria, RD.1, died Tuesday at 11:30 p.m. at Geissinger Medical Center, Danville, where he had been a patient ten days. He had been in failing health the past six weeks.
He was born Feb. 3, 1900 at Blair Fort Flats, Williamsburg, RD. He was married to Mary Catherine Kelly on April 18, 1928, at Hollidaysburg. She died July 7, 1973.
Surviving are six sons and daughters. Andrew, Jr. of Tyrone, RD 4; Mrs. Ira (Blanche) McGeary, Petersburg, RD 1; Mrs. Chalmer (Dorothy) Briggs, Mrs. Jake (Evelyn) Murtiff, Mrs. Benjamin (Ethel) Jones, all of Alexandria, RD 1; and Mrs. Donald (Clara) Wertz, of Lilly. A son Harry preceded him in death. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Also surviving are a sister and four brothers: Mrs. Blanche Detwiler, Tyrone RD 3; Jerry and John, both of Williamsburg RD; Henry of Bellwood and Charles of Alexandria RD. Two sisters are deceased.
He was a member of the Water Street Lutheran Church and of the Home Association of the William P. Spyker American Legion Post, Alexandria. He was a farmer, retiring in 1968.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Grove Funeral Home, Alexandria. Burial will be in Presbyterian Cemetery, Alexandria. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
