She was the daughter of Richard (1765-1860) and Charity (maiden-name-unknown) Rider and granddaughter of John and Lydia (Phillips) Rider.

Lydia Mae Rider married (1) Luther Gleason, abt 1812; married (2) Daniel D. Osmun, abt. 1821.

In the biography of Philetus Gleason, Lydia's eldest son from her marriage to Luther Gleason, published in the Williams Co. Historical & Biographical record in 1882, Lydia's maiden name is spelled R-Y-D-E-R.

In the 1850 & 1860 census of Franklin Twp., Fulton County, Ohio, Lydia is listed as being born in New York.

In the 1880 census, Lydia's children, Annliza, Aaron M., Charity M., John, and Sally Ann all tell the census taker that their mother, Lydia, was born in New York.

In the 1880 census, Oscar is the only child to tell the census taker that his mother, Lydia, was born in Connecticut; it may have been Oscar's second wife, Lavinia, who provided the wrong information.

The only connection I can find to Connecticut is that Luther Gleason, Lydia's first husband, was born in Connecticut.

Lydia's death certificate gives date of death as May 05, 1870 in Mill Creek Township from "lung fever" (pneumonia?), aged 75 years and 9 months.
