Elmer Newton Johns, 42, Sellersburg, Ind., formerly of Louisville, died Wednesday at 2527 St. Xavier at the home of friends.

He was a laborer and a truck driver and a Navy Veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his widow, the former Rosa Lee Mayfield; a son, James Johns, of Ohio; two daughters, Miss Glora Fay Johns, with the Army at Ft. McClellan, Ala. and Miss Rose Mary Johns, Atlanta, Ga.; his mother, Mrs. Rosa Johns, Charlestown, Ind.

The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Dunn Memorial Funeral Home, 518 N. 26th, with burial in National Cemetery, Lebanon, Ky. The body will be at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Saturday.
