E. C. Monkhouse Succumbs at 74

Eugene Charles Monkhouse, 74, of 200 Albany, died Tuesday at the Veterans Administration Hospital.

He was a construction superintendent for Werner Construction Co., a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the carpenters union. He was a Shreveport native and lifetime city resident.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ruth Monkhouse, and three sisters, Mrs. Vesta Sanders and Mrs. Christine Norsworthy, both of Shreveport, and Mrs. Gladys Hargus of Tulsa, Okla.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. Burial will be under the direction of Wellman Funeral Home.
