Ruby Marquiss died May 28, 2006, of natural causes in Bountiful, Utah. Ruby Rosetta Tenney, and a twin sister Ruth Rosalia, were born on May 25, 1911, in Centralia, Il., to H. Eugene and May E. (Brown) Tenney.
Ruby grew up in Illinois, Colorado and California. In 1928, she married LeRoy Collier in California. They were the parents of: Robert L. Collier (Boise, ID); James A. Collier (deceased); Carol L. Jones (Walnut Creek, CA); and Gene R. Collier (deceased). Ruby later married Gordon Marquiss in Idaho and they were parents of Larry Marquiss (Santa Barbara, CA). She lived and worked in California before moving to Utah where she was employed by the Davis County School District until she retired at the age of 72. She lived in Bountiful for the remainder of her life. Ruby was preceded in death by her mother and father, two brothers (Loren B. and Harold Eugene), husbands LeRoy and Gordon, two sons (James and Gene) and three great-grandchildren. She was survived by her sister Ruth R. Thyden Rodgers (Carson, CA) who died in 2008; sons, Robert Collier (wife Joy) and Larry Marquiss (wife Fran); daughter, Carol Jones (husband Robert); daughter-in-law, Myrne Collier; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. She was an active member of the Bountiful American Baptist Church.
Services were held Thursday, June 1, 2006, at 3 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, UT. Interment was October 4, 2006, at Bountiful City Cemetery.
