Graveside services and interment were conducted Thursday afternoon April 9th from the Smith County Memorial Gardens Her pastor Bro. John Perdue officiated at the 2 p.m. services.
The only child of the late Wirt and Alice Viola “A.V.” Elrod Leftwich, she was born Minnie Louise Leftwich in the Ensor Hollow of Putnam County on May 12, 1921.
She was united in marriage to Chestnut Mound native Will Lee “Bud” White on October 6, 1940. He preceded her in death on September 6, 2006 after almost sixty six years of marriage.
The Wyatt Family lived and reared their family on Main Street in Carthage until 1971 when they retired and relocated to Crossville.
Mrs. Wyatt was a former teacher at the Carthage Elementary School and taught for a while after relocating to Crossville in the Cumberland County School System.
Her total career spanned a period of thirty five years.
Mrs. Wyatt was a graduate of the Baxter Seminary and received her Bachelors in Education from the Tennessee Technological University.
She was an avid and an accomplished painter of still life and loved playing the piano and singing.
A former member of the Carthage United Methodist Church, after moving to Crossville she was a faithful member of the Rebekah Group and the Fellowship Class all at First United Methodist Church of Crossville where she was a devoted member.
Surviving are her daughter, Sharon Wyatt of Crossville and Sherman Oaks, California, a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Nancy Wyatt of Crossville and Anaheim Hills, California; sister-in-law, Virginia Plummer of Cookeville.
The family requests memorials to the Building Fund of First United Methodist Church of Crossville.
