Randy was born June 26, 1933 in Cleveland, OK to James Ralph and Nina K. (Bridge) Cummings. He was the oldest of 5 children. He was raised in the Scrapping Ridge area near Cleveland. After receiving his education in Cleveland, he moved to Lovington, New Mexico where he worked for a Seismograph Company in the oil fields in Texas, Wyoming and Colorado. He met his wife Laurie in Shiprock, N.M. They were married on July 3, 1955 in Cleveland, OK , just 9 days before he was drafted and left for boot camp for the Army. After boot camp he was sent to Ulm, Germany for 18 months. After returning from Germany he was discharged from the Army and began his life with Laurie. He worked in construction and as a surveyor for 5 years then received employment from Flint Steel as a fitter welder. He worked for them for 19 years until the business was closed. During the years he worked for Flint Steel he began building a side business which was C & C Spacer, Inc. He and Laurie worked side by side in this business for over 28 years. Randy also drove a bus for the Cleveland School System for 13 years.
While attending Terlton Baptist Church he received his license to preach the Gospel. He later became a deacon and was recently honored for 40 years of faithful servicer in the ministry and serving as Deacon at Western Heights Baptist Church for 23 years.
Farming was his first love and he always grew something in his field until his health started to fail. He also had cattle. He wanted to look out his back door and see them wandering in the field. He kept up a garden until 2010. He took great pleasure in growing things in his garden. He loved to go to Eureka Springs and Branson.
Survivors are his wife, Laurie Lee Cummings of the home, daughter, Debbie Cummings Daigle of Baton Rouge, LA, grandchildren, Jennifer Daigle-Wicker, Gary Dewayne Cummings, Michael Paul Cummings, and Benjamin Joseph Daigle, sister, Patsy Cooper-Goforth and her husband Don, brother, Ronald Cummings and his wife Bobbi and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
