Billy Ray "Bill" Ebert, 82, resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012, at his home, after fighting a courageous year and a half long battle with cancer. Billy Ray Ebert was born September 6, 1929 in Independence, Kansas the son of C.W. "Bill" and Veda Faye (Dixon) Ebert.

Bill was raised in the Independence area, graduating from Independence High School in 1947.

He was united in marriage with Sharon Eileen Keeley on July 6, 1955 in Bartlesville where they established their home and began their family.

Bill retired from the Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise as production superintendent after a more than thirty-year career with the paper. Bill enjoyed fishing and camping, gambling, and watching sports. He was especially fond of the OSU Cowboys, the St. Louis Cardinals and the Arkansas Razorbacks, having lived in Fayetteville for several years.
Bill was a U.S. Navy veteran and a proud member of the American Legion Post #105. The family suggests memorial donations be made to that organization: American Legion Post #105; 501 N.E. Washington Blvd.; Bartlesville, OK 74006.
