Aaliyah was survived by her parents Nina Atencio and Kevin Medina; maternal grandparents Vicente and Janice Atencio; paternal grandparents Donna Naranjo and Joseph Medina; great-grandparents Carmen Coul, Mino Abeyta, Viola Atencio, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Naranjo and Robert and Norma Evans; great-great-grandparents Carmelita Naranjo and Pilar Archuleta; aunts: Camila Atencio, Jennifer Atencio and Desiree Medina; uncles Vicente Atencio, Antonio Atencio and Brian Gaston; cousin Syniyah Gaston; God-parents Vicente Atencio and Anika Sandoval and many other relatives.
Funeral service was held on Monday, April 16, 2012 at the New Hope Church in El Llano. Burial followed at La Villita Cemetery.
