Ben was a coal miner. During World War II, Ben and Ollie, as we called her, when to Richmond, Contra Costa County, CA. After the War they went back to the Masontown area to live out their lives.
Ben loved to talk about his family, but I was young and can't remember to much. Even after my parents divorce Ben and Ollie would come to visit us. My Dad especially liked them.
My Dad would take us to Ben's farm in Masontown to visit. There were always a lot of children thee to play with, it was a great time.
Ben and Ollie were also foster parents to Nellie Louise Howell, her Mother died at childbirth.
Louise buried Ben and Ollie. Phamie purchased the headstone.
