LUTHER A. YOTHER
Luther Arlin Yother, 68, 2311 Norris Avenue, died today at 3:30 a.m. at a local hospital following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. at the Collier-Butler Chapel with Rev. George Warren officiating.
Burial will be in Forrest Cemetery with Harold McDowell, Sam Vincent, Jerry Kershaw, Loyd Nix, W.R. Moon and Fred Battles as active pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Adult Sunday School Class of the Forrest Avenue Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the electrical department of Republic Steel Corporation and all personal friends. The body will remain at the chapel through the hour of service.
Mr. Yother had retired from Republic Steel after 45 years of service. He was a member of Forrest Avenue Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the Woodmen of the World. A native of Heflin, he had lived in Etowah County for the past 55 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Esther Naylor Yother; three sons, W.T. and Arlin A. Yother, both of Gadsden, and Calvin Yother, Birmingham; a daughter, Mrs. William A. Hill, Gadsden, three brothers, D.D. Yother, Gadsden, Charlie H. Yother, Gulfport, Miss., and Johnny Yother, Birmingham; two sisters, Mrs. Roland Cooley, Montgomery, and Mrs. Ernest Pharis, Graham, N.C., and nine grandchildren.
