There is no tombstone in the Sloan Cemetery for William Stevenson Sloan. We know he was buried there, he lived near the cemetery and his father James Sloan lived across the road from the Sloan Cemetery.
William Stevenson Sloan was married to Lenora J. Browning November 16, 1848 in Clark County, Arkansas.
In county court records I find that Stephenson Sloan was excused from Road Duty in 1845 because he was a teacher.
He was the father of 4 children.
He was named for his great grandfather William Stevenson who was born in Ireland and settled in North Carolina after coming to the United States.
