Mrs. C. X. Woodruff of Corpus Christi, about 90, died at 1:45 p.m. Thursday, March 28, in a Robstown hospital, after suffering a stroke the preceding Wednesday. Mrs. Woodruff was a sister of Daro Camp of the Kelley community and a sister-in-law of John Puryear.
Mrs. Woodruff came to Collingsworth County with other members of her family in 1899. For several years, about 30 years ago, she and Mr. Woodruff lived on the Plains, then returned here to live for a time before moving to Corpus Christi. He preceded her in death in 1957. She was the oldest daughter in a family of 15 children.
Surviving Mrs. Woodruff are a daughter, Mrs. Eula Lindgreen of Corpus Christi; her brother, Mr. Camp; and a sister, Mrs. H. B. Duke of Dallas.
