son of Einer and Lolita (Ham) Jensen

James (Jim) Einer Jensen was welcomed into heaven Saturday, April 14 at the age of 74.

Jim was born September 21, 1937 to Einer and Loleta (Ham) Jensen in Waterloo, Iowa where he grew up and attended East High School. On June 9, 1956 he married Jo Ann Smock at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa and together they had four sons and raised their family in Finchford, Iowa.

Jim worked for Titus Manufacturing in Waterloo for 19 years before the company moved out of state. He delivered school supplies for Latta's, worked for Schultz Manufacturing and drove a beer route before going to work for H&H Machine Tool in Cedar Falls for 21 years until he retired in 1999.

Jim loved being with his family and friends and never met a stranger. He spent much of his younger years fishing with his wife, spending time at their camper on the Mississippi and dancing at the Riviera. After retirement, he and Jo Ann spent time traveling to visit their children and grandchildren, gambling in Tama and working in the yard. Jim's best accomplishment was his family. Every holiday and many weekends were spent with his family gathering at the house for a meal and a card game, lots of laughter and his grandchildren and later, great-grandchildren waiting for a spot on his lap or next to him in the recliner.

He will be greatly missed everyday by his wife of 55 years, Jo Ann of Finchford, and sons: Steven James of Moscow, Russia, Dennis Allen (special friend Kathy Andersen) of San Leon, TX, Terry Ray (Barbara) of Allison, daughter-in-law Jodie Jensen Scoles (Cody) of Aplington, his sister Diane (William) Koehler of Omaha, NE, his 16 grandchildren and their spouses, and 17 great-grandchildren with an 18th due in the fall who loved him so much and many other friends and extended family.

Waiting to greet Jim in heaven with a big smile and hug is his son Larry Eugene, his brother Jerald Lavon Jensen, two nephews, David and Bryan Jensen, and his parents.

Funeral services will be held at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Cedar Falls on Wednesday, April 18 at 10:30 a.m. with burial following at Finchford Cemetery in Finchford. Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49 will be conducting the military honors. The family will be receiving friends at Dahl Van Hove Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls on Tuesday, April 17 from4-7 p.m.
