A second stroke, which occurred at noon today at St. Joseph's Hospital, claimed the life of Arthur Bruckert, 69, former caretaker and zookeeper at Wildwood Park, who retired May 1. He had been hospitalized since being stricken two weeks ago.
Mr. Bruckert had served the city since 1929 and began his duties at the park about 1931.
He was born in the town of Herman, Dodge county, June 15 [sic], 1836, and came with his family to Marshfield shortly after the fire of June 27, 1887. Later the family moved to a farm in the town of McMillan, where Mr. Bruckert lived until his marriage to Emma Zettler in November, 1911.
The couple continued to farm for a time in McMillan, then in Auburndale, and moved to Marshfield in 1921. For eight years Mr. Bruckert was employed by the Soo Line and Chicago and North Western before going to work with the street department crew.
He is survived by his wife and a daughter, Eileen, at home.
Friends may call at the Hansen Funeral Home beginning Wednesday evening. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Funeral services for Arthur R. Bruckert, 69, have been set for 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Hansen Chapel. The Rev. T. P. Bradtke, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, will officiate and burial will be made at Hillside.
Mr. Bruckert, who retired as caretaker of the local park and zoo May 1. died of a stroke Tuesday noon at St. Joseph's Hospital, where he had been a patient since suffering an earlier stroke two weeks ago. He resided at 404 N. Peach Ave.
