CARL C. GARRETT DIES AT HOME ON GREENSBORO ROAD
Carl C. Garrett age 52, well known painting contractor of the Greensboro road, High Point, Rt. 5, died suddenly last night at 7 o'clock. While he had been in failing health about a year, death came suddenly and unexpectedly resulting from a heart attack. He was born in Jamestown on June 27, 1893, a son of Joseph D and Mary Bales Garrett and was married June 27, 1917, to Miss Lolene Hodgin who survives with a son Carl C. Garrett, Jr., two daughters, Mrs. Juanita Davis and Miss Helen Garrett, all of the homeplace.

Also surviving are four brothers, J. V. Garrett and G. Dewey Garrett of High Point, Raymond Garrett of Asheboro and Floyd Garrett of Jamestown; a sister, Mrs. Herbert Luquer of Jamestown, and one grandson. He was a member of the Wesley Memorial Methodist church and an active member of the Peacock Bible class of that church. Funeral services will be conducted from the Wesley Memorial Methodist church Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

Funeral services for Carl C. Garrett, 52, who died suddenly Saturday night, were conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Wesley Memorial Methodist Church by Dr. C. Excelle Rosselle, Asheboro, former pastor and now superintendent of Thomasville district. Two selections were sung by J. Gurney Briggs, W.C. Phillips, Mrs. John Peacock and Miss Bettie Kirkman. Active pallbearers were Arthur A. Ridge, Robert Williams, V. G. Kirkman, Wilber Hier, Grady Palmer and A. P. Kimrey; honorary pallbearers were Alex Murray, R. B. Allen, Stamie W. Stroud, Paul R. Spencer, L. D. Ridge, John W. Austin, Jr., Oscar T. Hall, C. C. Hassell, C. L. Michael, C. H. Williard, George A. Convington, W. H. Davis, W. F. Robinette, Dr. G.I. Humphreys, W. Paul Davis, T. A. Tilden, C. R. Harrison, V. L. Hunt and C. M. Ivey. Burial was in Guilford Memorial Park cemetery
