Mrs. John Cartwright, 89, of 715 Parkview Dr., died Saturday, June 22, in Mercy Hospital after a short illness.
The former Ann Elizabeth Tarpley, born July 15, 1884, at Marion, Ill., had lived in Milton since 1897. She was married to Mr. Cartwright Oct. 13, 1900, in Milton. He died in 1966. She was member of Seventh Day Baptist Church, Milton, Rebekah Lodge No. 103, Milton Historical Society and Women's Village Improvement Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother, Frank Tarpley.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Richard Applegate, Milton, and Mrs. Arthur Lauri, Iron River; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday, June 25, in the church with burial in Milton Cemetery. Rev. Earl Cruzan and Rev. Carroll Hill, retired, officiated.
