According to Rufus Troutman of the Ford Family of Worth County tree, it is highly probable John Wesley died during one of the Gettysburg, Penn. battles. He was a member of the 59th Ga. Infantry, Capt. Anderson Brigade, which engaged in battle on the 2nd and 3rd July, 1863, in Gettysburg. 116 casualties suffered.

He was a brother of our great-great grandmother Sarah M.A. Sikes Davis Ford. RDB
