Denmark - Services for Anne Olivia Welsh Folk, 95, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2000, at Bethel Park United Methodist Church with Rev. Blaine Hudson officiating. Burial will be in Denmark Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 this evening, October 13, 2000, at Mercer Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Bethel Park United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 207, Denmark, SC 29042. Mrs. Folk died Wednesday, October 11, 2000, in The Methodist Oaks, Orangeburg. Born November 1, 1903, in Elliott, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Nelson Welsh and Harriet Scarborough Welsh. She was a graduate of Winthrop College and was a retired music and mathematics teacher in the Norway school system. She was a member of Bethel Park United Methodist Church, and a former member of the Chancel Choir and the UMW. Mrs. Folk had been a resident at the Methodist Oaks since 1989, and was the widow of Jesse Clifton Folk. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Jesse C. Folk Jr. and Nancy H. Folk of Denmark; sisters, Mary Welsh Winter of Columbia, Sarah Welsh Buie of Ft. Belvoir, Va.; brother, Olin Henderson Welsh of Lumberton, N.C.; grandchildren, Amanda Anne Folk, Jesse C. Folk III, Samuel Mark Fold, Victor Raymond Brown; four great grandchildren. Mrs Folk was predeceased by a daughter, Christine Folk Brown. © The State, Columbia, SC, 13 Oct 2000
