Jessie Luster Ellis, 100, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Imperial Plaza.

She was born in Talcott, WV to John and Lula Luster on January 11, 1912.

She worked as a graduate head nurse at Saint Philip Hospital and was employed until retirement as a Richmond Public School nurse at Armstrong High School.

Jessie was predeceased by her husband, Edward L. Ellis (1904-1993); and son, Oliver "Mickey" Ellis.

Jessie is survived by nephews, James Luster and Lavohn Biggers of Talcott, WV; nieces, Anne W. Carter (Edward) of Kernersville, NC and Jean Walker (George, deceased) of Richmond, VA; granddaughter, Star Brown of Woodbridge, VA; devoted friends, Dorothy Brown of Woodbridge, VA and Carolyn Lomax of Forestville, MD; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Her remains rested at the W. S. Watkins & Son Funeral Home, 2700 North Avenue. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at 11am, at the Watkins Community Chapel, 2701 Garland Avenue. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery.
