William Hobbs, a descendant of Josiah Hobbs of Boston was a pioneer settler of Westfield VT. He came to Constable, NY with his family about 1810. Among his children were John, Benjamin, Nathan, Thomas, Joseph Hobbs and Lucretia Hobbs Harmon. Some of his Grandchildren include Judge Albert Hobbs, Lucy Beaman Hobbs and Major Edward Harmon Hobbs.
