Peggy Louise (Steward) Nabors
Shawnee resident Peggy Louise (Steward) Nabors died Saturday at her home. She was 50.
Mrs. Nabors was born May 1, 1949, in Shawnee to Ernest and Betty (Allison) Steward.
She was a 1967 graduate of Dale High School and attended Rose State College.
She worked for the Oklahoma State University Extension, the Oklahoma Health Care Authority and David Walters. She served in constituent services for the governor's office and was the owner of Flowers 'N Things.
Nabors was active in the Oklahoma AG Task Force Committee, Oklahoma State Fair Sundowners (hospitality), was Ronald McDonald House volunteer (special fund-raising projects), received a state Future Farmers of America honorary degree, and a member of Hazel Dell Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Steward; and two grandsons, Nolen James Garrison and Wyatt Garrison.
Survivors include her two daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Keith Cook, Shawnee; Deena and Jim Garrison, McLoud; a granddaughter, Morgan Garrison, McLoud; mother and stepfather, Betty and Bill Zuker, Shawnee; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Loyd and Becky Steward, Shawnee; Tim and Vicky Steward, Dale; Mike and Gay Steward, McLoud; Terry and Cathy Steward, Shawnee; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeannette and Blaine Graybeal, McLoud; Patsy and Clinton Darneal, Midwest City; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The casket will not be opened before or after services.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel in Shawnee, with the Rev. John Mixon officiating.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.
