Macomb, Helen "Eloise" Winter, 93, of Macomb, passed away at 3:40 am, Saturday, April 14, 2012 after a short stay at The Elm's Nursing Home. She was born September 16, 1918, in Manly, IL, the daughter of Grover John and Geneva Belle (Clugsten) Gorsuch. She married Dale E. Winter on Easter Sunday, April 9, 1944 at the former Macomb Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Dale, two children, Dianne (Terry) Duncan of Knoxville, IL, Larry (Doreen) Winter of Dublin, OH; three grandchildren Laura Duncan of Knoxville, IL, Valerie Duncan of Elgin, IL, Justin Winter of Dublin, OH; one great-granddaughter, Savannah Duncan of Knoxville, IL,; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and five brothers and four sisters including Marie Tumey, Edgar Gorsuch, Lawson Gorsuch, Irene Ellison, Anna Mae Graves, Ivan Gorsuch, Gene Gorsuch, Betty Hinson, and Dick Gorsuch. She attended Bushnell schools before moving to Macomb to pursue employment. She enjoyed selling shoes at the former Stuarts and Randolph Shoe Stores before becoming a farm wife in the Bardolph area. She loved short trips to visit relatives, cooking old-fashioned meals, and re-arranging her many knick-knacks. Her family was her pride and joy. She was a member of the former Mound Homemakers Club, Bardolph United Methodist Church and Faith United Methodist Church, and the Macomb Grandmother's Club. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home in Macomb where visitation will be one hour prior to services from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Rev. Trish Chapman will officiate. Burial will follow at Bardolph Cemetery. Memorial may be made to the Macomb "Loaves & Fishes" Food Pantry. You may leave condolences and sign the guest book online at www.dodsworthfh.com.
