Funeral services for William H. Prull were held September 8 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Anamosa with burial in the Oakwood Cemetery in Monticello. the Rev. David Hagstrom officiated.
William H. Prull, 82, of Anamosa died Saturday at the Anamosa Community Hospital following an extended illness.
William H. Prull was born June 6, 1905 near Monticello, the son of Henry and Meta (Monk) Prull. He attended the rural schools near his home and later chose farming as his life's work.
He and Ida Ketelsen were married August 2, 1927 at Monticello. The couple farmed near Center Junction for four years. In 1931 the couple moved to a farm near Martelle and farmed there for forty-five years. They retired in 1976 and moved to Anamosa.
William was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Anamosa, where he had served on the church council. He had also Been a member of the Martelle School Board and a school bus driver.
He is survived by his wife Ida; six children, Robert Prull and Betty McCarty, both of Anamosa, Ralph Prull of La Mirada, California, Mary Jo Nagel of Laguna Beach, California, Lorna Ellis of Manchester and Larry Prull of Cedar Rapids; fifteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Ray Prull of Monticello; two sisters, Mary Ohe of Sunnyvale, California, and Hattie Schlarmann of Monticello. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Casketbearers were Steven Schlarmann, Philip Schlarmann, James Prull, Jerry Prull, Don Ketelsen, William Ketelsen. Goettsch Funeral Home of Anamosa was in charge of arrangements.
