Agnes M. Wenning, 92 of Sturgis, MI., passed away at the home of her granddaughter in Paw Paw, MI.

Agnes was a daughter of the late John P. and Elizabeth F. (Vyverman) Westrick. She resided in Sturgis, MI., having come from Kalamazoo in 1986. On May 14, 1949 she married Garrett Wenning, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, in Kalamazoo. She attended Parsons Business School and had been employed in the offices of Consumer Power and Atlas Press; both in Kalamazoo. She was a dedicated homemaker, wife and mother.

For many years, Agnes was a volunteer at the Kalamazoo State Hospital. She was a dedicated member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, in Sturgis, where she served on the Altar Society. She was the first lay woman in the state of Michigan to be appointed as a Eucharistic Minister. Praying the Rosary was a very important part of the Wenning's life and they truly believed that the family that prays together stays together.

Agnes is survived by two daughters, Edith Bott of Daytona Beach, FL., and Mary Ann (Larry) Carpenter of Sturgis; one son, Joseph Wenning of Batesburg, South Carolina; 10 grandchildren, Robert, Amanda, Jennifer, Michael, Garrett, Heather, Traci, Tammy, Brooke and Eric; 25 great grandchildren; one sister, Katherine Losiewski of Alaska; and many godchildren and nieces and nephews. ***** She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Mary Redmond and five brothers, Jude (John), Joseph, Herbert, Edward and William Westrick.

Funeral Mass: Holy Angels Catholic Church; Rev. Father Mark Vyverman of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Three Rivers officiating.
