John J. Schirato, 71, of 605 South Eighth Street, Lebanon, died Monday, July 24, 1989, in his home.
Born in Lebanon, he was the son of John J. Schirato, Lebanon, and the late Ernestine Gross Schirato. He was a retired painter and paperhanger, and was formerly a member of the St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Lebanon, and the Lincoln Republican Club, Lebanon.
Surviving are children: John I. Schirato, Lebanon; James E. Schirato, of Springfield, Mo.; Joan, wife of George Shelly, of Dallas, Tex.; Lois A. Ward, of Lebanon; Richard Schirato, of California; David Schirato, of Dallas, Tex.; Judith Schirato, of Dallas, Tex.; Stephen Schirato, of Dallas, Tex.; Richard Schirato of Hummelstown; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for John G. Schirato, 605 S. 8th St., Lebanon, on Thursday, July 27, 1989, in St. Gertrude's Catholic Church, Lebanon.
The Rev. John F. Greaney, pastor, was the celebrant. Interment was in St. Gertrude's cemetery with James Schirato, David Schirato, Richard Schirato, Dick Schirato, Michael Graup, William Binner, Lori Jones and Virginia Schirato serving as pallbearers. Thompson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
